Workshop with Matt Sharp
One of the great opportunities in our club is to participate in a half day, or full day workshop conducted by one of our very experienced club members. Matt is a wonderful demonstrator and teacher, and brings a wealth of knowledge to his workshops. He has been an “Artist in Residence” at the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection in Canberra and has been a regular demonstrator at club meetings for many years.
While we endeavour to have at least 2 visiting demonstrators from interstate or overseas each year, in addition, we try to schedule two workshops facilitated by our members. These are always in demand and often over-subscribed. Keep an eye out for opportunities in 2026 to participate… it’s a great opportunity to learn from some of the best, but also a great way to get to know others in the club.
In July this year, Matt Sharp conducted two half day workshops for 12 of our members at Pembroke School. There were a variety of trees, styles and experience levels amongst the participants but everybody finished their workshop with a tree that had taken several steps forward in its bonsai development.
