Workshop with Andrew Ward

The participants in Andrew’s 2026 workshop consisted of the enthusiastic ‘regulars’ and also some members new to the club.

Andrew approached each session by explaining in broad terms what we should be aiming for in developing our bonsai. Asking us to think about selecting the best base, trunk line and characteristic feature of each tree, rather than just tell us what he was going to do with them, made the workshop more interactive. Applying that knowledge immediately after learning certainly made me more confident in considering how I wanted my trees to look.
